Certificate in Frameworks of Nonprofit Excellence | Certificate in Finance | Certificate in Fund Development

The Alliance for Nonprofit Excellence and the School of Business at Christian Brothers University jointly issue certificates of completion for the following three 501(c)ollege Certificate Programs. Individuals who complete at least 100 hours of training in a certificate program or through individual workshops are eligible to apply for graduate credit toward their Masters in Business Administration at CBU. Certificate in Frameworks of Nonprofit Excellence
This one-year certificate program offers nonprofit organizations a comprehensive course of study on the key concepts of nonprofit management, including new research and best practices on running a high impact organization.  Organizations registering for this certificate program are encouraged to bring up to two people to each session.

Organizations also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in various areas of nonprofit management by selecting two elective courses within the following core areas of management (Alliance staff will consult with organizations in making these selections): board governance, finance, fund development, human resources, organizational leadership, planning and evaluation, and strategic communications.
Cost: $995 for members; $1,500 for non-members

Certificate in Finance
The Certificate in Finance will be awarded to individuals who complete five courses in this core area.  This program provides participants with an understanding of the principal concepts of nonprofit finance.  To qualify for the certificate of completion, individuals must take three required courses and select two elective half-day courses.

Fundamentals of Nonprofit Finance or Intermediate Nonprofit Finance – depending upon participant’s level of knowledge (Required)
Developing Your Nonprofit’s Income Strategy (Required)
The Zone of Insolvency (Required)

Understanding Nonprofit Accounting
Understanding the 990 Tax Return

If you choose to take webinars in place of classroom instruction, you must take all three of the following sessions:

Cost: $350 for members; $340 for PNE participants; $500 for non-members

Certificate in Fund Development
The Certificate in Fund Development will be awarded to individuals who complete five courses in this core area.  This program will provide an understanding of fundraising and the various approaches to securing resources for a nonprofit organization.  To qualify for the certificate, individuals must take two required courses and three other elective courses.
